AeroWeather Lite is a useful app designed for pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and anyone who needs accurate and up-to-date weather information. It offers current and precise weather conditions (METAR) and forecasts (TAF) for airports worldwide. The data can be viewed in its original raw format or as fully decoded and easily understandable texts. This app is not only great for weather preflight-briefings but also for getting very precise weather updates. All weather data is cached for offline access, ensuring that you have the information you need even without an internet connection. The app also provides various settings for units and formats of METAR/TAF.

One of the app's convenient features is the built-in airport database, which includes basic airport data such as sunrise/sunset times, twilight times, and timezones.

AeroWeather Lite allows you to group nearby stations and offers a today widget for quick access. You can customize the main list view by showing or hiding groups based on your preferences.

The METAR alert notifications feature is particularly helpful in keeping you up-to-date. You can define multiple alerts for each station based on criteria such as flight rule (US NOAA), wind speed, temperature, pressure, present weather, visibility, and ceiling. Your device will receive notifications when these criteria are met, ensuring that you receive timely updates.

For dedicated METAR/TAF access, you have the option to choose a subscription plan. This allows you to access METAR/TAF data from a certified ANSP through reliable and fast servers. The subscription also provides additional features such as meteograms, alert push notifications, D-ATIS for larger US airports, Area Forecast Discussions, RVR data for the US and Germany, home screen widgets, imagery and charts (Captain subscription), and SIGMETs (Captain subscription). Please note that METAR/TAF from ADS-B receiver is also available, but it requires a Captain subscription.

If you prefer an ad-free experience, you can remove the ad banner at the bottom of the screen through a one-time unlock purchase. Additionally, consider upgrading to AeroWeather Pro or subscribing to unlock more features and support the continued development of the app.

The subscription offers different time periods (1 month, 12 months) and is valid for both AeroWeather Lite and Pro. Cross-app subscription support is available if iCloud is enabled with the same Apple ID. Please note that previously purchased unlock features are not affected by the subscription and will continue to work with or without it.

Auto-renewal can be turned off at any time via your account settings. Payment for the subscription will be charged to your iTunes account at the end of the free trial period or prior to the end of the current period for renewal. You can cancel the subscription anytime with no commitment.
